CaraStyle (trans. “Face Fashion”) Cara Liedlich started her Hair and Make-up career at a young age while acting in the theatre. Her passion for both theatre and fine art led her to pursue a degree in Technical Theatre Design at West Chester University. As a student she was awarded a "College of Arts and Sciences Grant" to study prosthetic make-up and participated as a teaching assistant at the Kennedy Center/ACTF make-up workshops. In 2002 she graduated from West Chester University with a B.A. concentrating in Costume and Make-up Design and minors in Fine Arts and Art History. Upon graduating she immediately began working in Regional Philadelphia Theatres and Independent film as both a Costume Designer and Make-up Artist/Wig Stylist. In early 2003 Cara enhanced her hair and make-up knowledge when she began working for the AVEDA Corporation. Under the umbrella of Estee lauder she gained a variety of leadership opportunities including management, in-store educator and event specialist. In 2006 Cara stepped into the role of Aveda Freelance Artist. As an AFA she traveled by request to salons between the D.C. and NYC area to showcase the newest seasonal looks /trends as a featured makeup artist. Fueled by a continual passion for color and texture, Cara expanded her retail roots in 2008 when she joined the salon side of the network. She apprenticed under some of the best in the industry honing her skills as a cutter/stylist and colorist. Today, as a licensed cosmetologist and make-up artist she continues to share the latest trend looks with fellow industry professionals and their guests. Over the years, her experience has led her to versatile opportunites in areas including Runway, Bridal, Print, Theatre, Opera, Feature Independent Films and Award winning short films. Cara's work has been seen in Philadelphia area theatres, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Delaware Grand Opera, Tribeca Film Festival, GenArt Film Festival and New York Fashion Week. Her ability to team manage, book keep and organize with an easygoing attitude make her an excellent asset to any film production team or live event. Her past experience in a variety of mediums and skills has earned her a creditable reputation as a hair/make-up department head in the film industry. Character design, creative collaboration, color, texture and creative problem solving via storytelling are her greatest passions.
